Congratulations to Calvary Softball on their incredible and unheard of League Winning Streak of 66 wins that came to an end at the hands of Estancia HS last night. Incredible job ladies, hold your heads up high for you are true Champions and Disciples for Christ. Its great to be born again!!! Coach G.

Winter Workouts Begin!

CCHS Winter Workouts 2015

It finally feels like fall/winter and our first winter workout is around the corner! We will be having our first workout/meet and greet this Saturday, November 7 from 9am – 12pm at The Nest (MCA Field). This is for any and all skill levels – from years of experience to never thrown a softball. This workout is only for our high school students; however, if you have younger players – we would love to say hi!

Here’s the recap:

Who: Any CCHS or CCPSP (Calvary Chapel Private School Program) students.
What: Light workouts and meet and greet
What time: 9am – noon

Why: To meet our seniors, coaches, new assistant coaches, and fellow softball players! And to have a light softball workout.
What to bring: for those who have softball equipment, bring them. For those who do not have any softball equipment, bring athletic shoes/tennis shoes – we have a glove you can borrow.

We did it!! CCHS Softball defeated Montebello HS 3 – 1 on Tuesday to move on to the next round!

The Eagles will take on the Conquistadors at 3:15pm at home (TeWinkle Field) TODAY (May 29th)! Come out and support your Eagles!

The Calvary Chapel Eagles survive Montebello 3-1 thanks to Sophia Peterson‘s late-game heroics

Sophia Peterson brought home the winning run to give the Calvary Chapel Eagles the lead in the seventh inning, as the Calvary Chapel Eagles hung on to beat Montebello 3-1 on Tuesday.

With the score tied at one, Peterson came to the plate and doubled, bringing home Madison Njust.

It was a good day at the plate for the Calvary Chapel Eagles’ Peterson. Peterson went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run.

Carley Buonarigo got the win for the Calvary Chapel Eagles. She allowed one run over seven innings. Buonarigo struck out seven, walked two and gave up nine hits.

M Flores was charged with the loss. She lasted just seven innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

The top of the first saw the Calvary Chapel Eagles take an early lead, 1-0.

In the first inning, Montebello pushed across its only run of the day on an RBI single by J Guevara.

Early lead gives the Calvary Chapel Eagles victory over Laguna Beach, 20-0

The Calvary Chapel Eagles jumped out to an early lead on Laguna Beach and captured a 20-0 victory on Tuesday at TeWinkle Park – Field #1.

The game was decided quickly as the Calvary Chapel Eagles exerted their will early with 20 runs in the first three innings.

A three-run home run by Darian Gibson, an RBI triple by Amber Arrington, a steal of home by Arrington, and a two-run double by Carley Buonarigo during the first inning and a walk by Gabriela Lara, an RBI single by Arrington, an error, a two-run single by Buonarigo, a two-run single by MacKenzie Schultz, and a two-run double by Gibson in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Calvary Chapel Eagles.

Gibson racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Calvary Chapel Eagles.

Madison Njust was in control in the circle. Laguna Beach managed just one hit off of the the Calvary Chapel Eagles’ pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during her 2 2/3 innings of work.

Buonarigo got the win for the Calvary Chapel Eagles. She tossed 2 1/3 innings of shutout ball. Buonarigo struck out three, walked one and gave up no hits.

Angelina T was the game’s losing pitcher. She allowed 16 runs in two innings, walked seven and struck out none.

Victory! CCHS vs. Saddleback 19-9

The Calvary Chapel Eagles best Saddleback in shootout, 19-9

Scoreboard operators were busy at Saddleback HS on Tuesday as the Calvary Chapel Eagles and Saddleback combined for 28 runs. Calvary Chapel Eagles eventually won the offensive battle 19-9 in five innings.

The teams totaled 15 hits, including five extra base hits in the game.

Everything was working at the plate for the the Calvary Chapel Eagles in the second. The Calvary Chapel Eagles’ bats caught fire leading to 11 runs. The Calvary Chapel Eagles scored in the second on a passed ball, a sacrifice fly by Kaylin Etheridge, a two-run double by Gabriela Lara, a sacrifice fly byAmber Arrington, an error, a two-run error, a walk by Sophia Peterson, a walk by Emily Kahle, and a hit by pitch.

Bonnie Kahle racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Calvary Chapel Eagles. She singled in the third and fourth innings.

Saddleback converted a triple play in the second inning.

Arrington got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. She allowed two runs over three innings. She struck out five, walked none and surrendered two hits.

The Calvary Chapel Eagles easily handled Saddleback pitching as seven hitters combined for 11 hits, 11 RBIs and 13 runs scored.

Karen Guzman took the loss for Saddleback. She allowed 19 runs in five innings, walked eight and struck out none.

The Calvary Chapel Eagles piled on four more runs in the top of the third. A single by Kahle ignited the offense,, plating Arrington and Madison Njust. That was followed up by Peterson’s double, plating Kahle.

The Calvary Chapel Eagles pushed across two runs in both the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, the Calvary Chapel Eagles scored on an RBI single by Kahle, bringing home Arrington.

The Calvary Chapel Eagles added two more runs in the top of the fifth. A clutch error scored MacKenzie Schultz to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Arrington’s single, plating Darian Gibson.

Victory over Godinez 3-2 on 4/16/2015

Carley Buonarigo hits and pitches the Calvary Chapel Eagles to 3-2 victory

An impressive two-way performance from Carley Buonarigo led the Calvary Chapel Eagles to a 3-2 win Thursday over Godinez, as Buonarigo came up huge at the dish and in the circle.

Buonarigo was solid at the plate for the Calvary Chapel Eagles. Buonarigo went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. She homered in the fifth inning.

Buonarigo worked out of four tough spots for the Calvary Chapel Eagles. She pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs on nine hits. Buonarigo faced her most difficult moment in the seventh inning.

Amber Arrington helped the Calvary Chapel Eagles take the lead for good in the seventh inning. Gabriela Lara doubled to get on base in the seventh. She then went from second to third.

Adriana Barrera was charged with the loss. She lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed three runs.

The Calvary Chapel Eagles jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second. Kaylin Etheridge singled after a single by Jessie Rodriguez got things started.

The Calvary Chapel Eagles matched their one-run fifth inning with one more in the seventh. In the fifth, the Calvary Chapel Eagles scored on a solo home run by Buonarigo.

The Calvary Chapel Eagles scored in the second on a two-run single byAmber Arrington, a bases loaded walk by Jessie Rodriguez, a walk by Kaylin Etheridge, an RBI single by Madison Taylor, a walk by McKenzie Oviatt, an RBI single by Carley Buonarigo, an RBI single by Gabriela Lara, and an RBI single by Darian Gibson.

Buonarigo racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Calvary Chapel Eagles.

The Calvary Chapel Eagles easily handled Estancia pitching as eight hitters combined for 20 hits, 15 RBIs and 12 runs scored.

B Walker couldn’t get it done in the circle for Estancia, taking a loss. She allowed 16 runs in four innings, walked five and struck out one.

The Calvary Chapel Eagles stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring three runs on a solo home run by Buonarigo, a groundout by Arrington, and an RBI single by MacKenzie Schultz.

It didn’t take long for the Calvary Chapel Eagles to answer as they scored three runs of their own in the third. The Calvary Chapel Eagles scored on a three-run home run by Etheridge.

The Calvary Chapel Eagles lost a hotly contested 9-4 game in seven innings on Thursday at Segerstrom HS after surrending the lead in the sixth inning.

Sophia Peterson was solid at the plate for the Calvary Chapel Eagles. Peterson went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. She homered in the fourth inning.

Madison Njust shut down Segerstrom while she was on the rubber. Madison Njust held Segerstrom hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.

Alexandra Mendoza got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed four runs over seven innings. Mendoza struck out three, walked two and gave up nine hits.

Segerstrom was sparked by Alejandra Morales and Brenda Medina, who teamed up for three hits and two RBIs.

Amber Arrington took the loss for the Calvary Chapel Eagles. She lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
